New Music Saturday

Just a few new songs wandering around my ipod these days. Beirut does a wonderful job of blending styles reminiscent the smiths, sufjan stevens, and the stranglers. Elephant Gun, Scenic World, Nantes, and Transatlantic are among my favorites.

Alas, Elephant Gun:

Jamie Lidell’s, “Multiply” is also a smooth cut.

    While the term/name “Beirut” has typically brought back memories of ping pong balls splashing into plastic cups filled with the most cost-effective beer available, I’m liking the music stylings of these guys. Rock on, Beirut!
