Halo 3: First Impressions

Date September 25, 2007

Well, after standing in line with a lot of high school kids, college kids, some teens and their parents, I grabbed my copy of Halo 3 at 12:08am and started to “finish the fight” shortly thereafter.

So far, the game is awesome. Refined, polished, cinematic, beautiful, but most of all it’s Halo. Or should I say, it’s MORE Halo. More weapons, more dialogue, more graphics, more effects, more story, more of everything you’ve come to expect from Halo.

I’m still trying to figure out if it is above all the hype, or if that is what I’ve come to expect from Bungie, the makers of the Halo series. It may just be lack of sleep clouding my judgement, or that I’ve only played the first 3 hours or so, but I’m hesitant on the game living up to all the hype until I get a bit further.

One thig is for sure, Microsoft stands to finally make a profit from its entertainment division, with an estimated 4+ million copies of the game selling by the end of September.

Time to grab a coffee, and to finish the fight. To be continued…
