artist profile: Joel Plaskett = Canadian Greatness

Date February 18, 2008

“A Million Dollars” by Joel Plaskett an excerpt.

let’s go out, we’ll take no prisoners
lonely love gotta leave it behind
we look like a million dollars
everytime they look at us we’ll blow their minds

let’s get wrecked on rolling rock and stroll down to the sea
i’ll come to my senses there, then you’ll come to me

You can read up about Joel Plasket and his band on wikipedia. I’m just here to say the he’s one of the most prolific singer songwriters I’ve found in the last few years. But in the immortal words of Reading Rainbow’s LeVar Burton, “You don’t have to take my word for it”.

A few of my favorites: “Happen Now”, “Nowhere with You”, “Face of the Earth”, “Love This Town”, “Absentminded Melody”, and so many more.
