vimeo HD: the future of filmmaking?

Just discovered the beauty of Vimeo HD. I can’t help but think that we’re on the verge of some amazing short films given the access to affordable HD cameras, editing software and hardware, and an incredible platform for publishing. I think we have yet to see the true power of the self publishing model - beyond blogs and social media sites like digg.
